Challenge Cup fourth and fifth round draws made


The draws for the fourth and fifth round of the Challenge Cup have been made, involving 16 teams outside of Super League.

Two community clubs remain in the prestigious cup competition in National Conference League sides Hunslet and Rochdale Mayfield.

Four League 1 sides have reached Round Four – Midlands Hurricanes, North Wales Crusaders, Dewsbury and Doncaster.

10 Championship clubs make up the rest of the 16 teams for the draw.

The draw was made at Millom, who are thought to be the world’s oldest amateur rugby league club. 2023 marks their 150th anniversary, with their last appearance in the Challenge Cup coming in 2019 when they defeated Serbian side Red Star Belgrade 38-10.

Super League clubs enter the competition in Round Six.

Keighley v North Wales Crusaders

Hunslet ARLFC v Batley

Midlands Hurricanes v Bradford

Dewsbury v Widnes

Rochdale Mayfield v Newcastle Thunder

York v Sheffield

Halifax v Barrow

Fifth Round Draw

York/Sheffield v Rochdale Mayfield/Newcastle

London Broncos/Doncaster v Dewsbury/Widnes

Hunslet ARLFC/Batley v Keighley/North Wales Crusaders

Halifax/Barrow v Midlands Hurricanes/Bradford

The fourth round ties will be played over the weekend of April 1-2. Round five ties are scheduled for three weeks later on April 22-23.

The winners of the four fifth round matches will automatically qualify for the semi-finals of the 1895 Cup.
