The members of Bracknell Cricket Club and Reading United Cricket Club have unanimously agreed to become one club, merging into Bracknell United.

Both clubs held general meetings in February and March of 2024 and approved the proposal to become Bracknell United.

The merger will increase the amount of cricket and the level of cricket being played in the region, with six Saturday teams, one Sunday team, one mid-week teams and an established colt’s cricket structure.

There are plans to expand the club further by procuring more grounds and better facilities moving forward, there are also plans underway to start a Women’s team soon.

Bracknell Cricket Club’s chairman, Mr Ashok Badana, said ‘This is a significant moment in the club’s journey, and they are delighted to welcome the members of Reading United Cricket Club. Reading United has achieved phenomenal success in a short space of time by constantly raising the bar in cricket year on year. We look forward to making the club stronger with a view to competing in the top divisions in the Berkshire and the Thames Valley leagues.’

Reading United Cricket Club’s chairman, Mr Kiran Alluri, added ‘We are very glad to enter this new partnership with a historical and esteemed cricket club with excellent facilities.
