Worcestershire captain Brett D’Oliveira has returned to the crease after undergoing “extensive” rehab to his shoulder.
The all-rounder recently saw action for his Birmingham and District Premier League side, Ombersley, against Barnt Green, where he had a promising display, picking up two wickets and scoring 21 not out, as he contributed to the team’s six-wicket win.
Set to return to Vitality County Championship Division One, D’Oliveira’s return could not have come at a better time, as the Pears gear up for a clash with Kent on Thursday (August 22) at Visit Worcestershire New Road.

The captain spent the duration of the Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign recovering and strength training his shoulder in an effort to return to his best form for the resumption of red ball cricket.
Ombersley’s match saw D’Oliveira finish with figures of 10-0-38-2, while the opposition scored a total of 218-9 in 50 overs.
Batting at number six, D’Oliveira’s 21 not out helped his side to a six-wicket win with two overs to spare on a total of 222-4.
He struck one six and two fours in his 20-ball knock.
In other club news, another Pears player, Olly Cox, gave Ombersley a solid start with 54 runs off 71 balls.
Rehaan Edavalath scored 41 for Wolverhampton (286-9) in their 29 run victory over Barnards Green, who were bowled out for 257.
Academy batter Daniel Lategan also drew attention for his fine form, scoring 83 to help Kidderminster to a hard-fought three-wicket win over Wellington.
He batted at six at 154, but Nathan Jukes’ 37 not out saw Kidderminster claim the win.
This followed a century in both innings for the academy earlier in the week as they drew with Somerset at Taunton Vale in the ECB County Championship.
Hishaam Khan, who played for Worcestershire in the One Day Cup, scored 34 batting at four for Moseley with figures of 9-1-39-2, who won their match against Kenilworth Wardens by 65 runs.
