Salisbury rugby club will host a rugby world cup winner and British and Irish Lions legend next month.
Richard Hill MBE, a former Bishops Wordsworth’s pupil, started his rugby career with Salisbury before going on to play for Saracens, England and the Lions.
On Saturday, September 7 he will be back at Salisbury to help promote LooseHeadz, a rugby mental health charity, in his role as Trustee of the British and Irish Lions Charity Trust.

LooseHeadz are on a mission to place a mental health lead into every rugby club around the world. They provide tools and resources to help tackle the stigma around mental health and work with more than 1,000 rugby clubs around the globe.
There will be a question and answer session with Mr Hill and LooseHeadz in the Clubhouse at 2pm.
Salisbury then kick-off the 2024-2025 season against Royal Wooton Bassett at 3pm. All are welcome to come and watch.
To mark this special occasion admission to the game is free.
Salisbury RFC President Nicola Rawnson said: “We are delighted to host Richard Hill and support awareness of rugby charity LooseHeadz. Recognising the importance of mental health for everyone involved in the Rugby Community, is an important part of starting the season with a positive impact.”
Located on Castle Road, Salisbury RFC run three senior teams and have a popular junior section with over 500 members between the ages of 6 to 18.
