The latest instalment of one of cricket’s great rivalries gets underway in Perth this week as Australia host India, looking to regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The five-Test series is also set to have major repercussions as far as the World Test Championship is concerned, with both countries desperate to make next summer’s final at Lord’s.
India arrive as underdogs, having just lost 3-0 at home to New Zealand and will be without their captain, Rohit Sharma, for the series-opener following the birth of his second child.
Australia, though, have lost their last two home series against India and all eyes will be on debutant Nathan McSweeney, who has won the race to partner Usman Khawaja at the top of the order.
