BURGHILL, Tillington and Weobley along with Bartestree and Lugwardine look set to battle again in Worcestershire County League Division One next season after both secured vital wins.
Burghill were underdogs at sixth placed Halesowen who had an outside promotion chance coming into the match.
The smart money was on Halesowen to take a comfortable victory, overseas star Reece Thomas helped his side to pull off an unlikely win.
Early on Burghill slumped to 16-4 after 5.3 overs before Jack Stockdale (31) and Sabil Sarmad (27) put some respectability to the score, before another cluster of wickets took the hosts to 106-9 after 28 overs.
That was until Thomas clobbered 83 runs in 38 balls, with 9 fours and 6 sixes.
The Halesowen bowlers all suffered heavy punishment and were relieved when last man JD Lewis was run out, to end the Burgs innings on 191. The tenth wicket stand was worth 85 in 42 balls.
With the ball Lewis once again got important early wickets and finished with 3-30 off his 10 overs.
AJ Morris then bowled an immaculate line and length for his three wickets for eight runs off 6.4 overs.
As if his belligerent innings was not enough, Thomas bowled three short miserly spells for his two wickets and Ranjit William picked up a solitary wicket.
Halesowen were bowled out for 137 off 41.4 overs resulting in Burghill winning by 54 runs.
Not to be outdone Bartestree firsts all but secured their safety with an impressive win against Bewdley, who started the day in fourth position.
However, the Herefordshire hosts fell early on to 30-3, but skipper Ryan Trattell and Max Backhouse steadied the ship to take Bartestree to 83-4 before the former departed.
An innings full of fight from Backhouse of 79 allowed the hosts to creep up to 202, supported well by the lower order, particularly Andy Rodgers (25) with some great striking.
With the ball Adam Davies took a wicket in the first over of the innings, for the fourth time this season.
Bewdley’s danger man tried to take on Strangward’s bouncer which resulted in a caught and bowled, and with another wicket, as the visitors fell to 9-3.
A brief glimmer of hope for Bewdley came with a 40-run partnership by skipper Damon Gariff and Rob Combes.
Cometh the hour, cometh Owen Beynon who bowling with great control ripped out the Bewdley middle order, finishing of figures of 3-28 off 10 overs.
Backhouse chipped in with two wickets, including the final one and the hosts were victorious on the day.
Burghill have two games remaining and can secure safety next weekend.
With two games remaining Brockhampton are just two points above the relegation zone in the Premier Division, while Bromyard sit bottom and far from safety.
