BURGHILL, Tillington & Weobley continued their up and down season after they were beaten to bottom side Chaddesley Corbett in a reduced overs game.
Last weekend Burghill were celebrating after recording a seven-wicket win against Hagley, helped largely by bowling figures of 6-33 off 11 overs for JD Lewis.
With hopes high they headed to Chaddesley Corbett hoping to avoid the heavy rain showers and record another maximum points victory.
In a 42 over match due to a rain delay, Chaddesley Corbett won the toss and inserted the Burgs into bat.
The visitors scored 212-8 with Owen Morgan (45) and Barney Morgan (43) leading the way for their side.
In reply, Chaddesley Corbett chased down the target in 37.5 overs for a five wicket win finishing on 215-5. Burghill bowlers Ranjit William and Arjun Singh Joravaar both took two wickets each in vein.
The defeat drops the Burgs to ninth, only five points above the relegation zone.
Meanwhile Burghill seconds scored 314-5 against Martley seconds in the Worcestershire County League Division Seven (South) but were unable to defend the huge total.
Batting first, Clive Chadhani (88) and Dencil Das (82 not out) put on 192 runs for the fifth wicket.
They started off cautiously but increased the tempo as the innings progressed. It was a textbook batting display and helped the side to a formidable total. Earlier, George Stevenson had scored a breezy 41 in 33 balls.
In reply, Martley reached the target with four balls to spare. Alex Basford scored an unbeaten 161 to seal the victory for the away team.
Brockhampton picked up some points despite suffering a losing draw at home against Stourbridge.

However, only a half-century from George Mokler boosted Brockhampton further as they finished on 188-9.
After losing an early wicket Stourbridge then built towards their target and ended up on 133-5 to take a winning draw.
Bartestree & Lugwardine firsts saw their trip to Ombersley yesterday rained off, so missed a chance to test their standard against the league leaders.
But back in Herefordshire assiduous use of the covers and their fast-drying outfield meant that the Bartestree’s seconds match against Worcester went ahead.
Ben Simpkin and Chris Tulacz put together an excellent opening partnership of 85, setting up a total of 190-6.
Four early wickets for our up-and-coming bowlers Charlie Nation and Dom Goodman set the foundations before spell of 3-3 from Tom Haynes seal a welcome victory for the Herefordshire side.
Meanwhile, Kington suffered a nine-wicket defeat to Luctonians in Marches Division One despite wicket keeper Laura Wade scoring 73 runs.
Lucs responded in style with an unbeaten partnership between Adam Gray (89) and Chris Ibbetson (76).
