BURGHILL, Tillington and Weobley clinched the Herefordshire T20 KO Cup honours after beating Brockhampton in the final

The Burgs saw off Almeley in their semi-final by 134 runs to reach the final.  In tricky conditions Burghill scored 196-7.  Theo Darke (41), Jake Kinderman (34), Sabil Sarmed (33) and George Stevenson (30*) all chipped in with runs.

In reply, Almeley were bundled out for 62 as Amy Maund, AJ Morris, and George Stevenson snapped up a couple of wickets each.

In the final, Burghill won the toss and batted first. AJ Morris (39), Jack Stockdale (23) and Owen Morgan (18), were the main run getters in the Burgs’ total of 146-9.

Alex Poe picked up 3-39 and there were two wickets apiece for Tom Skerrett and Indiana Jerram.

Chasing the target Brockhampton fell short by 13 runs despite a valiant effort by Indiana Jerram (70).

Amy Maund with 1-26 off her four overs bowled set the tone with her opening spell.

Both openers, Jerram and Skerrett were in attacking mode but found it difficult to break her rhythm.

Burghill’s three youngsters Darke, Morris and Stevenson, with a wicket each, supported her well.

Bartestree and Lugwardine completed their Worcestershire County League Division One campaign by taking a convincing seven-wicket victory at relegated Coombs Wood.

After the hosts had elected to bowl on a damp and sticky track the Herefordshire visitors made quick inroads.

Adam Davies (3-25) opened the bowling with precision and movement and got his rewards as the hosts were reduced to 40-4.

On came Ethan Bartlett (3-23) who removed the middle stump out the ground not once, but twice.

Ryan Trattell also contributed towards the bowling attack and Coombs Wood were left skittled out for just 95.

The reply started cautiously but Bartestree soon exploded into life and the Coombs Wood bowlers were regularly retrieving the ball from the fence and from over it.

Despite losing opener Matt Tulacz for a duck and Edward Milner for nine a knock of 41 from 53 balls for Simon Davies, including three fours and a pair of sixes, saw Bartestree home.

Bartestree finished on 90-3 with captain Ryan Trattell (23) hitting the winning runs.

The result saw Bartestree finish in ninth and two positions below Herefordshire rivals Burghill, Tillington and Weobley.

Burghill put up an almighty fight before falling to a six-wicket defeat at league champions Worcester.

After being put into bat the Herefordshire visitors batted well throughout after putting on an opening wicket partnership of 92-1 and kicking on to set a excellent target of 337-7 off their allocated 50 overs.

Wicket keeper and opener Tyler Garrard scored a half-century (67) before Reece Thomas hit an unbeaten century (116).

The Division One will provide a host of Herefordshire derbies next season after both Bromyard and Brockhampton were relegated from the Premier Division.

Brockhampton’s fait was sealed after they fell to a 25-run home defeat against Redditch after setting a target of 235.

Bromyard were already cut adrift at the bottom despite beating Stourport-on-Severn on the final day.
