Super League winning prop forward Kyle Amor has backed Hull FC to pick up a much-needed victory in their Good Friday derby over local rivals Hull KR.
Speaking on Betfred’s The Last Tackle, Amor and fellow guest Kevin Brown insisted that form goes out the window ahead of Super League’s Rivals Round as the current Widnes forward backed Tony Smith’s struggling Black & Whites.
Hull FC have fallen to 11th spot on the Super League table following Castleford’s west Yorkshire derby victory over Wakefield on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Willie Peters has enjoyed four wins in the start to his head coaching career at Hull KR, claiming fifth spot on the table.
And despite the clubs’ opposite forms in 2023, including Hull’s recent 34-6 loss to Warrington and The Robins’ 20-12 win over Leeds in Round Seven, Amor has backed the hosts to do the business on the day at home.

“I think Hull FC win this one,” Amor said on Betfred’s The Last Tackle.
“The quotes that Tony Smith has come out with in the last couple of weeks, just making sure he reiterates the importance of performances week in, week out.
“The message hasn’t quite sunk in just yet. But for the reason Kevin (Brown) says, where the form goes out the window, I think Hull will just have the bit between their teeth to make sure they win this week.”

Former England half-back Brown, however, tipped the visitors to pick up the two Super League points on offer, with a 12:30 kick-off ahead of the fiery fixture between Wigan and St Helens.
Brown commented: “If you go on form, Hull KR win and win convincingly.
“But, what I do know in derbies, that form, you can rip it up and throw it out.
“For Hull FC, I think they need that. I think they need a reset. I think they need something a bit different.
“It’s going to be a massive, massive ask for them.
“There was an area that’s a real worry (against Warrington), when Josh Drinkwater got the ball and just ran through two players and scored. He isn’t Sam Kasiano. That kind of look is not good.
“But I think they’ll be up for this one, and if they’re not, they may as well hang their heads in shame.
“It’ll be close, but for me, Hull KR are too strong.”
