GLOUCESTERSHIRE will take on Herefordshire in two National Counties
showcase matches on Wednesday, June 12.

The double-header will see Herefordshire NCCA XI play a Gloucestershire XI in two T20 matches at Eastnor Cricket Club.

With the first match starting at 10am and the second match at 3pm, the matchday will be a
celebration of National Counties cricket and described as ‘perfect for the whole family to attend’.

As well as two thrilling games of T20 cricket to look forward to, the NCCA showcase day will include a BBQ and a bar and is available.

The prices for the showcase match is £5 per person. Gates will open at 9am and tickets can be bought on the day.
Speaking of his excitement ahead of the T20 double-header, Richard Cox,
general manager at Herefordshire Cricket, said: “We have always
endeavoured to have strong links with our nearby neighbours and this
matchday will allow us to grow our relationship with Gloucestershire.

“We gave Worcestershire a good run for their money in 2022 and last year’s rained off game with Glamorgan was nicely poised, so we look forward to hopefully repeating the same in 2024 when we take on Gloucestershire.

“Given it’s the only major fixture taking place on Wednesday, June 12, we hope to see many faces new and old at the delightful Eastnor Cricket Club.’’

Taking place during Gloucestershire’s busy Vitality Blast schedule, the double-header will provide Mark Alleyne and his players with extra game time as they look to mount a challenge to qualify for the knockout stages of the T20 competition.

Head coach at Gloucestershire Cricket, Mark Alleyne, added: “We’re delighted to get some extra exposure in the T20 playing period with a trip up the M5 to play Herefordshire.

“It’s a game we are all looking forward to as we seek to continue to grow the game with our neighbours.

“We’re excited to make even greater connections with Herefordshire’s performance and pathway programmes and at the same time, are looking forward to being involved in two great games of cricket at what promises to be a fabulous family occasion.”

To find out more about the match is available on the Herefordshire Cricket website. The match comes in the middle of a busy time for Herefordshire who are in NCCA Trophy action.

Herefordshire are at home in their next match when Staffordshire visit Eastnor with the match due to start on Sunday (June 9).

What could be a crucial match at Shropshire follows on Sunday, June 16, before Herefordshire conclude their campaign at home to Suffolk with Colwall hosting the encounter on Sunday, June 23.
