Brumbies hooker Lachlan Lonergan managed to get the ball stuck in his shirt in his side’s 33-26 win over the Rebels in Melbourne.
Just before the half-time break Lonergan threw the ball into the lineout and retrieved it at the back of the maul as the Brumbies looked to make some progress in the midfield.
A Rebels forward was pushing through the middle and managed to get a hand on the hooker’s shirt. When Lonergan decided to break his jersey was pulled off his head and onto his hands. The ball was swallowed and he ended up throwing the best dummy unintentionally! It was a hilarious moment for the commentators and fans.
The play was called to a halt as he was shirtless and the teams were sent into the sheds for half-time.

It was the hosts who opened the scoring in the game as loose forward Josh Kemeny showed his pace in a stunning try in the third minute with Reece Hodge knocking over the extras.

The Brumbies responded quickly enough through fly-half Noah Lolesio who scored in the eighth minute and converted his own try a minute later. The Wallaby was next on the scoresheet as he crossed for his second try in the 20th minute. Once again, Lolesio made no mistake from the tee.
The hosts were not lying down as they scored almost immediately after through Lachlan Anderson as Hodge completed the conversion.
However, the Brumbies had the final say in the first half with Jahrome Brown’s first try of the game. Lolesio added the conversion to give the visitors the lead at the break.
Brown was at it again with the first try of the second period in the 48th minute, with the conversion missed on this occasion. The Rebels responded with Anderson securing his brace with an unconverted try less than 10 minutes later.
The Brumbies were looking to close out the game and added their final try just after the hour mark through Wallaby Rob Valetini as Ryan Lonergan kicked the conversion.
A 72nd-minute Carter Gordon converted try made the final few moments interesting, but it was not to be for the hosts.
