Kendal Cricket Club has signed a new professional for the upcoming season in the form of a South African talent.
Cole Abrahams, a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spinner, is set to join the club ahead of the season starting in April 2025.
Abrahams, from Johannesburg, South Africa, began his cricket journey at the age of eight.
He made his first appearance in representative cricket for the Gauteng Central School’s Development side at the age of nine and was later contracted to the Gauteng Lions Senior provincial squad ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Abrahams has a history of captaining various Gauteng junior representative teams and shone at Parktown Boys High School, where he received full cricket colours in 2016 and 2017 and captained the 1st XI in his final year.
He was also a long-term member of Delfos Cricket Club, contributing significantly to the club’s success alongside various Lions players.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, Abrahams played for Mpumalanga as they sought re-admission to the provincial system, proving to be a solid contributor.
His performance over two seasons with the Rhinos Colts caught the attention of his native Gauteng Lions Province, who offered him a contract ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Currently, Abrahams is making his mark in First Class cricket with Northern Cape, boasting an average of 46 including his maiden first-class century.
Kendal Cricket Club has also signed Harry Temperton from Keighley, a keeper-batsman part of Cumbria’s Elite Pathway programme and Cumbria’s Under-18s.
