Wyn Jones will make his 100th appearance for the Scarlets on New Year’s Day as they welcome Dragons to Parc y Scarlets.

The hosts make six changes from their Boxing Day win against Ospreys, but Wales full-back Liam Williams will not make his return from injury.

Dragons make two changes from their narrow defeat to Cardiff Blues, with Nick Tompkins and Leon Brown returning.

Jamie Roberts is self-isolating due to community transmissions so misses out.

Former Scarlet Rhodri Williams returns to the Dragons bench after finishing his period of self-isolation.

However Sam Davies remains sidelined after a calf strain that forced him out in the build-up to Dragons’ European Champions Cup defeat at Bordeaux-Begles on 19 December.

Former Dragons Tom Prydie starts for Scarlets in place of the injured Tom Rodgers while Tyler Morgan will partner captain Steff Hughes in midfield.

Sam Lousi comes into the second row alongside Jake Ball while there is a brand new back row of Blade Thomson, Dan Davis and Sione Kalamafoni.

Scarlets had hoped to include Williams in their matchday squad for the first time since the British and Irish Lion suffered an ankle injury on Autumn Nations Cup duty for Wales, but the region have decided to give him more time to fully recover.
