BARTESTREE and Lugwardine recorded back-to-back wins in their mission to beat Worcestershire County League Division One relegation.
The Herefordshire visitors were given an early boost at relegation rivals Chaddesley Corbett after skipper Ryan Trattell won the toss and elected to bat.
Ed Milner, opened up with Matthew Tulacz and after 15 overs the visitors were 78-0 and had the great foundations for a big score.
Unfortunately, they then had a slight wobble as 86-0 became 100-3 with Milner (49) and Tulacz (35) returned back to the hut.
However, the ever-reliable Max Backhouse and skipper Trattell put on a fine partnership in the middle overs.
Rotating the strike well and giving the treatment to the bad ball it was a fine display in how to bat in a partnership, the pair putting on 121 until Trattell got caught on 71 while trying to up the score.
Backhouse finished on a half-century and with Charlie Cole finishing on an unbeaten 37 Bartestree made their highest score of the season of 276-7.
Bartestree bowlers Adam Davies (1-36) and Tom Strangward (2-38) had early success with the new ball as Chaddesley fell to 29-3 off 12 overs
However, Adil Mirza came in and hit the first four balls for sixes and at the halfway point the hosts were 115-6.
Things started to get nervous for Bartestree when the hosts brought up the 180 and needed less than 100 in 15 overs.
Despite Mirza finished on 119 until Owen Benyon struck with one of three late wickets to bowl Chaddesley Corbett out and give Bartestree victory by 37 runs.
Meanwhile, Burghill, Tillington and Weobley travelled to Hagley and the picturesque Hagley Park.
The Burgs made a bright start with Theo Darke (52), Owen Morgan (34) and Rhodri Jones (33) batting fluently at the outset.
At 147-2 after 26 overs, a formidable total was in the offing for the Herefordshire visitors.
However, their middle order woes continued and the Herefordshire side lost eight wickets for 88 runs in just under 18 overs.
Some 53 of those runs came from the blade of Reece Thomas’ bat, with a quick-fire half-century as Burghill were bowled out for 235.
Hagley controlled their run chase and reached the target for the loss of six wickets in 47.5 overs.
The defeat accompanied by Bartestree’s victory has left Burghill looking over their shoulders with five games remaining.
Brockhampton and Bromyard are also locked in a relegation tussle in the Worcestershire County League Premier Division.
Brockhampton welcomed titled chasing Pershore to The Parks and were bowled out for 91 which the visitors reached within 20 overs to win by eight wickets.
Meanwhile, a second win of the season for basement side Bromyard gave them hope, beating Pedmore by 98 runs.
