Residents will have the chance to take part in a walking cricket session with Somerset’s cricketing heroes James Rew and Kasey Aldridge on Monday (February 17).

Blackbrook Leisure Centre and Spa, run by award-winning operator Everyone Active in partnership with Somerset Council, will welcome the England Lions pair at the session on Monday, February 17 from 10am until noon.

Members will meet and greet the duo at the slower-paced session, which is being run in partnership with Somerset County Cricket Club and is open to all abilities and those with less mobility.

Mark Washington, contract manager for Everyone Active, said: “Our ever-popular walking cricket sessions are a brilliant way for the local community to get involved with a social sport that is plenty of fun and ideal for those players who would like to improve their fitness, health and well-being.

“No experience is required and we’re thoroughly looking forward to James and Kasey sharing their cricketing expertise and enthusiasm for the sport. If you’ve always wanted to try cricket but need a gentler pace, this is the perfect opportunity to give it go.”

Walking cricket sessions take place at Blackbrook Leisure Centre and Spa on Mondays from 10am-12 noon and Wednedays from 11am-1pm. Wellington Leisure Centre also runs weekly walking cricket sessions every Tuesday from 10am until noon.
