Wigan boss Matt Peet believes his side were not clinical enough in key moments during their 18-10 defeat to Catalans at the DW Stadium.
It’s the first time the Dragons have won at Wigan since April 2011.
The hosts only managed to run in one try on the night through Harry Smith as Steve McNamara’s side continued their unbeaten start to the 2023 campaign.
Manu Ma’u crossed either side of half-time, while Arthur Romano also crossed for a four-pointer in the victory.
Despite falling to their second defeat in four games so far in 2023, Peet believed the effort and desire was there from his Warriors squad, but gave away too many errors to complete a comeback in the second half.

“It’s a disappointing result,” Peet said.
“I was pleased with the lads’ second half performance. Although we didn’t manage to get the job done, I thought we managed to turn the momentum of the game and put ourselves in a position to win it.
“At crucial times, I thought we made some errors that you can’t make in these kind of games against a good team. Some of those big turnover moments are crucial and handing momentum back to Catalans who were in the mood to stick on to it.
“Credit to them, but I thought some of our game management wasn’t good. It took us a while to come to grip with the ruck control.
“We didn’t get the result in the end, but I thought you could see signs that the effort and desire was there.
“There was lots of things, it’s going to be a difficult game to watch back. But that’s the journey we’re on.
“It’s important that we learn because a lot of the big games in the season will be played in these conditions, so it’s important that we adapt better than we did tonight.
“Catalans are undefeated for a reason and like I said, I thought we put ourselves in with a chance, but we just weren’t clinical enough in key moments.
“It was a strange one tonight. At the start, we didn’t execute the plan that we wanted to. But it didn’t take us long to get back on track. But against good teams, you can’t miss a jump.”
